Boris Johnson, Mayor of London wishes to become first UK and World City plastic bags free for the Olympics Games in 2012. Will he be as successfull as Rebecca Hosking? Miss Hosking is a wildlife filmmaker and best known for her campaign to ban plastic bags in her home town of Modbury in Devon (in UK).
Modbury became famous as the first UK's town and World's town to go plastic bag free. This little Devon town is an example across the world.
The idea is that changing the habit will protect marine life and save non-renewable resource. It's worth remembering that plastic bags have only been around since 70's yet they can take 1,000 years to decompose compared to paper bags which take a month to decompose.
A habit worth changing? We say YES definitely!

Boris Johnson sets an Olympic goal for London to be Britain's first plastic bag free city

The City of London could become Britain's first plastic bag free city, under plans published today by Boris Johnson Mayor of London, to reduce litter and landfill waste.
Mr Johnson will explore measures for reducing plastic carrier bag consumption which include charging schemes. Shoppers will therefore be encourage to bring their own reusable bags and supermarkets may be forced to charge for single use bags.
The Mayor of London believes that Britain will rapidly reduce the 13 billion plastic bags issued to shoppers each year and today his aim is to achieve a massive reduction before the Olympics in 2012.

Future Bags and The Youth Justice Board for England and Wales (YJB) have produce 5,000 5oz Cotton Bags. The Youth Justice Board for England and Wales (YJB) is an executive non-departmental public body. They work to prevent offending and reoffending by children and young people under the age of 18, and to ensure that custody for them is safe, secure, and addresses the causes of their offending behaviour.
We made the Cotton Bags in our Far East Factory. All our manufacturers in the Far East work to an ethical and moral standard. All workers conditions have to obey with a minimum standard included hygiene and minimum age requirements for the employment of workers. Future Bags can also offer certified Organic Cotton bags. Growing organically takes more time, requires more knowledge and skill, and, at least for now, costs a bit more. But it is worth it since it doesn't contain any hidden costs to our environment.
The Natural Cotton Bags were standard shopper size (380 x 100 x 430mm) and printed three colours on both sides with cross stitches on handles for extra strengh as well as the inside chain stitch.
